Last year, I made a decision to join Great Heart Charity Association as an intern for 2 months. I wanted to develop my grateful personality as there are a number of people currently having financial difficulties.
I was assigned to join the Event Planning team helping to assist in organising the events. During the event, I had the chance to meet with different volunteers as well as other colleagues. I’ve also involved in contribution such as organising station games to give the beneficiaries a joyful memory throughout my internship.
When I participated in Great Vision’s Rakan Shopping and PRUKasih registration, I went to explain PRUKasih benefits with PPR Pantai Ria local residents. They were being grateful to get the chance registering as they are able to get some claims reducing their financial burden in case got involved into accidents or hospitalized.
In Rakan shopping, I helped 2 families in the progress of buying the groceries. I remember one of them shared a story saying he previously worked in a construction site, but couldn’t work in construction sector anymore after a car accident. He’s now working as a security guard and the company required him to work on weekend as well. As such, he is grateful to be selected as one of the beneficiaries in Rakan Shopping since he hasn’t met his wife for long time in shopping.
Since I got involved at Corporate Social Responsibility’s (CSR) meet up with different companies, I’ve gained some insights of the company’s perceptive and concerns toward the society. I’ve learnt that these companies have an intention to help out the society as well as poor families with different background who were struggling to pay off their medical or tuition fees.
Overall, these beneficiaries still carry on with their life fighting for their survival despite facing huge obstacles in financial conditions. As this moment, I gratefully realize that I am a well-being person who is free from financial and health problems.
