She is currently working as a telephone operator in an accounting firm in Kuala Lumpur, shuttling from SS3 in Petaling Jaya daily with her younger sister who is married. Wai Yin got married when she was young, but after giving birth to two daughters she got divorced. While Wai Yin is at work, the two girls are taken care of by their grandmother, who is elderly and often complains of pain and problems with her legs and feet. Wai Yin’s job only pays RM1000 per month. With the rising cost of living Wai Yin can barely make ends meet. She’s even more worried now that her daughter’s tuition fees has increased. Wai Yin wish is to find a new job with higher wages, close to home. Hopefully this will reduce the burden on her mother and sister. She smiled bitterly and said softly: “I know, sometimes it’s difficult for the blind to find jobs.”
