Situation:
Khor Sew Leong, a driver for a company boss suffers from heart disease, high blood pressure and kidney disease. As his condition deteriorated, he eventually succumbed to kidney failure.He currently goes to St. John’s dialysis center for treatment, three times a week at a cost of RM130 per session.His doctor has advised that he undergo a minor surgical procedure so that they can insert the tube at the wrist instead of the neck during dialysis. But this will incur very high medical cost. At the same time, they have to pay their house installments. They rely on their daughter’s monthly income of RM2000 to cover all these expenses. Their son has declined an offer to further his studies in Singapore to reduce the financial burden on his sister.
