Teng Chee Kong still single, at 58 years old works as a storekeeper. A stroke in 2015 led to memory loss and vision of only 20%. Due to his poor memory, he often forgot to take his medication, leading to uncontrolled diabetes, and eventually kidney disease. Currently, his second brother fetches him to the Kau Ong Yah dialysis center. Barely surviving on his low income, he is now struggling to cope with the extra expenses he has to pay for his brother’s dialysis treatment.
