We can’t change how the manufacturing and business’s “take, make, dispose” model instantly. We’ve live, breathe and died with this economy model.
We recently has gone to a much avid awareness of all these outrageous act of human being of creating items that is harmful to every single living organism in this earth. With the excuse of convenience, fast moving economy model, we’ve caused damages with our own ignorance.
The earth needs our tender loving care right away, so I believe as an individual myself, we can be more conscious, mindful and awareness, how little act can go a long way.
Simple things like bringing a container to pack lunch, dinner or basically everything. We used to do this in our parents’ generations. So, it’s a matter of habit, and doing it often. The fact is this ripple effect starts with me, to the next person, which is usually the vendor, for them to be aware, actually they can do something too to encourage his/her customer to bring their own containers for takeaway food.
It might sound and look really troublesome, but imagine if there’s a GPS tracker to that piece of plastic you thrown to the landfill and ending up to your stomach, or your loved one’s, you would think twice about this.
The cycle basically looks like this:-
plastic i threw–> dustbin–> landfill–>breakdown to smaller plastic–>river–> lake–> fishes drown in swallowing plastic –> on to our dinning table
I struggle too to make this change, but by having the consciousness, mindfulness, and awareness, I believe we are able to be the change and strong enough to change business to adapt circular economy model.
I pledge to do this good as I owe this to the earth for once being an ignorant world citizen. This shall come to an end real soon, not for us solely but our future generations.
We can start with a straw, one-time use plastic, but it’s much more than that we could do too. It’s not a only hype we follow, it’s a world- citizen’s responsibility.
