Over the holidays, I was an intern at Great Heart Charity Association. I participated in many of their activities and it was really eye opening for me.

I managed to see and talk to a number of underprivileged families in a Rakan Shopping event. They warmly invite you into their home and talk to you about their living conditions. It was a different and unique experience. Shopping with them was also a joy because they share their life stories and slowly open up to you.

There were also activities with orphanages such as gardening and breaking the fast which were really fun. The kids are full of boundless energy and smiles. Albeit tiring, you end up smiling and having fun as well because of the high energy they bring.

Volunteering at Great Heart led to a meaningful holiday. It was definitely a holiday well spent. When you have the time, do volunteer 🙂
