Situation:
Murthy, a patient with hereditary kidney disease was working in a plastic factory. Living a normal life, he was devastated after receiving news of his brother’s death over the phone one day. He fell down the stairs, was seriously injured and could not continue working.
His wife who takes care of his five children at home, fetches him to the Kau Ong Yah Dialysis centre. SOCSO pays for each dialysis session of RM110, and subsidizes half of the costs of RM50 for injections, given 13 times a month. To treat the disease, he needs an additional injection costing RM44 each, given 5 times a month. His 20 years old daughter who works in social media pays for all these expenses, a heavy burden on her small income of RM2000 a month.

Great Heart Charity Association has granted Murthy financial aid of RM630 per month for a period of six months.
