Description
Situation
Kwong Ting Yew, aged 77, working as a taxi driver, is a very friendly, affable person who enjoys talking with people. Since 2006 he has suffered from thalassemia and kidney disease. He spends RM800 per month on prescription drugs to treat anemia. He also requires dialysis treatment 3 times a week, at RM60 per session, which amounts to RM720 a month. Mr Kwong’s youngest son who usually takes him to the Waz Lian Dialysis Centre also pays for the treatment. However, his son who is married with three children and earning only RM3000 a month finds it difficult to cover all expenses for his father and his own family as well. But no matter how tough life is, Mr. Kwong is always smiling, he does not let life get him down, he remains filled with energy and enthusiasm for life.
